Brief Description
Mans the Box Office on performance nights
Knowledge
  • People skills
  • Basic money skills
  • Basic understanding of the ticket booking software/system (TicketSource) is desirable
  • Basic understanding of the payment software (Square) and having the Square app on phone is desirable
Responsibilities
  • Man the Box Office, handing out prepaid tickets to customers, and taking ticket orders from customers in person with payment by cash (or card if possible)
  • Note tickets booked on the night and the money paid (using TicketSource if possible)
  • Return cash box, unused tickets, etc to Box Office Manager and ensure they are given details of all collections/payments

Performance nights
Arrive 6:30pm latest and set up Box Office: seating plan for the night, prepaid tickets, blank tickets, cash box with float, pen and pad (and if possible laptop/tablet with TicketSource and phone with Square app to take card payments)
Performance nights
Welcome audience members at Box Office and hand out any prepaid tickets, noting which have been collected on pen/pad

Take payment for pre-booked (Reserved) tickets, by cash (or Square app if possible) and note customer name and payment type/name on pen/pad or TicketSource

If Square app not available, take cash or direct any customers making card payments to the Bar

For customers who have not pre-booked:
- Refer to the seating plan for available seats
- Write out blank tickets for the seat(s) booked
- Take payment by cash or card
- Record the booking on pen/pad or TicketSource, noting the customer name, seats booked and payment type

After 7:30pm, give House Manager any pre-booked tickets which have not been collected and close the Box Office

After Box Office duties have concluded for the week, return everything to Box Office Manager, together with details of all collections/payment/issues
