Anyone who came to watch the Friday night performance of our last show "Scrooge" will testify that WCAODS live by the old adage "the show must go on"!

With just a few minutes to go, a power cut plunged the theatre into blackness. Not only did we lose the lights. but also the microphones and the band! With great resourcefulness, Director Nora Howcroft and a few others immediately grabbed torches and the curtain calls were performed a capella and in very tight spotlights, much to the delight of the sell-out audience. Many in the audience joined in the community spirit with their phone lights!

The audience were then ushered out calmly and safely by the front of house and backstage staff. Everyone at WCAODS showed great professionalism; we certainly had a night to remember!
